FAQ's

I want you to be truly confident that my services are right for you. Here are answers to some frequent questions to help you decide.

COLOR ANALYSIS FAQ’S

What happens during a color analysis appointment?

Check out this little video I made!

How long is the appointment?

A color consultation lasts 2-3 hours for 1 person, and one additional hour per additional person.

What do I need to bring to a color analysis appointment?

Please arrive at your appointment wearing no makeup, and to help maintain the integrity of the drapes, no perfume.

If you use cosmetic tanners or micro blade your eyebrows, please allow 2-3 weeks since your last session before coming to your color appointment, since this can affect the results of your analysis.

If you wear glasses and have the ability to wear contacts to your appointment, I highly recommend you do!

Wear a simple top with no collar or high-necks. T-shirts and tank tops are ideal!

Can I wear a mask during my appointment?

While I’m doing the analysis on you, you’ll need to have your mask off. This is so I can see your face and watch you change in the mirror. If you’re watching someone else get their colors done, you can certainly keep your mask on! My studio does not have an active mask requirement.

Do I get to take the drapes home so I can shop for my colors?

Your service includes a fan with fabric swatches of all of the drapes in your season ($90 value!) so you can shop with ease! I’ll show you how to use it during your appointment. You will also get a booklet full of good info on how to make the most of your colors.

Will my coloring or season change?

Never! A color analysis looks at the colors of your undertones, which are your genetics. Those won’t change even if you go grey, age, tan naturally, or color your hair. Your color palette will be yours for life!

What if I’m tan?

As long as it’s a natural tan, you will tan in your season, so you’re welcome to come! Spray tans, on the other hand, are in effect makeup - so it’s best to let those fade before your appointment.

Can color analysis be done virtually?

No. Cameras and monitors use color correction to enhance images, and this distortion creates inaccurate results. In order to truly get lifetime value from a color analysis appointment it needs to be done in person, in natural light.

STYLE ANALYSIS FAQ’S

Do you offer classes in the evenings?

If none of the available class times work for you, you can request a special time for a private Style Class, and I’ll do my best to accommodate you. Send me an email to discuss!

How long is a style class?

A Style Class is about 4 hours long.

Can I attend style class virtually?

Yes! Style can be done virtually. We will do sessions via zoom, you’ll just need to make sure you’re in a place where you will not be disturbed, and you can get up and move around.

LOCATION, PAYMENTS, AVAILABILITY, ETC.

What is the location of the studio?

My studio is located at 325 Gold Street, Downtown Brooklyn, 11201.

Is the studio a private space?

Yes, the studio is located in a private unit within a larger office suite.

Do you take appointments on weekends?

Yes! They are always the first to book, so if you see one available, snatch it!

Do you take appointments in the evenings?

Color Analysis can only be done using natural light, and there’s not a lot of it in the evenings. Because of that, I only offer color appointments during daylight hours. I do offer Style Analysis Classes in the evenings, on request.

Can I pay in installments?

Yes! If you need to set up a payment plan for your Color or Style Analysis, please email me to inquiry about details.

Do you have gift cards?

I do! Email me with the amount you wish to gift, and I’ll mail it to you or to your loved one.

IS THIS THE RIGHT SERVICE FOR ME?

I desperately need new clothes, but I can either invest money on a stylist, or spend money on clothes. I can’t afford both.

I’m a little biased, but I’m of the opinion that you should spend money on the stylist (that’s me, in case that wasn’t clear ;) ). The knowledge you will get from working with me will serve you not only for the clothes you wear tomorrow, but for the clothes you will wear 20 years from now. Investing in your knowledge now will make your next purchases much better investments.

What I really need is a personal shopper! Do you do that?

I do, but only for clients who have gone through a Color Consultation and Style Class. Unlike other stylist services, I believe that learning to work with that you already have first is critical to building a successful wardrobe. If I just shop for you every time you need new clothes and never teach you how to dress yourself, you’ll be stuck in a cycle of needing to pay for an image consultant every time your clothes wear out.

I HAVE A FEW HESITATIONS…

Do I really need to work with an image consultant or personal stylist? Isn’t that a thing that only fancy people or celebrities use?

Personal style is not about being fancy, it’s about making yourself feel the way you most want to feel! Everyone deserves to be the best version of themselves, not just celebrities. Plus, you have to wear clothes anyway, so wouldn’t you rather wear clothes that fit you and make you feel your best?

I’d love to do this, but I have to wait until I lose weight...

I want to share a realization I’ve had that has significantly impacted my personal style: Confidence does not come from having a ‘better’ or ‘perfect’ body, it comes from knowing that our bodies will never be ‘perfect’, and choosing to love them and enjoy them anyway.

Everyone has insecurities, even the person you believe has the perfect body. The tools that you will learn by working with me will help you no matter what size or weight you are, and will show you that you can feel confident in your clothes no matter what. Don’t wait until it’s easier to dress your body to feel good in it. Learn how to do it now, and the tools you will gain will be useful to you even if your body changes in the future.

Have a question I didn’t answer?

Send me an email, and I’ll get back to you within 48 hours.
